An estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada. To show my support for all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, this is my 13th year participating and fundraising for Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 6, 2024.  With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.

In 2011, my sisters Mary, Patty and I did our first walk in honour of our cousin Sue who was diagnosed twice with Breast Cancer and carries the BRACA2 gene.  She is a true inspiration to our family as a survivor.  Little did we know that in 2013 I would be diagnosed with Breast Cancer and carry the BRACA 2 gene.  We then expanded our team with family and friends and as THE BUSTKETEERS have been walking each year to raise awareness and funds. I am a now an 11 year survivor and walk in honour of two incredible people in my life, my sister Mary who is a 4 year survivor, having gone through surgery just before the Pandemic and underwent treatment during the Pandemic and my sister Patty who carries the BRACA 2 gene and being at high risk has undergone preventative surgeries.  I am also walking for everyone who has dealt with Breast Cancer directly and their families who have been impacted by it. Please donate today.  I believe better treatment options and survival outcomes are possible.
