Tuesday morning to do list: get the kids on the bus, wish mom a happy birthday, check emails, shower... wait, what's that?
A lump in my breast? Weird. Doesn't hurt. It's probably nothing but I should call the doctor to make sure.

Man, am I ever glad I did.

A week after my 38th birthday I got the call that would change everything forever. It's Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, breast cancer.

How can this happen to me? I am young, healthy, I feel fine... but it was me. It could be anyone but it shouldn't be.

I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure because I can, because I'm here, I'm healthy, I'm strong and I'm mad as hell that this came into my life, into anyone's lives.

Being able to do something like this seemed so uncertain at diagnosis, would I even be alive? I want to help in anyway I can to find a cure so no one else, ever, feels that.
