The Run for the Cure is one of my favourite events. While Cancer strikes a chord of terror, the Run is a positive and affirming way to take action, celebrate achievements, and become part of a positive movement, while having fun. I will be participating on behalf of two people this year, Katherine Butson and Fiona Kelch. With the generosity of sponsors like you, Team Katherine Butson has raised over $250,000.00 since 2013.  Talk about INCREDIBLE!
This year we celebrated the eleventh anniversary of my incredible sister-in-law, Katherine Butson. She has battled one of the most formidable forms of breast cancer. She has faced many challenges above and beyond her diagnosis, and has gone on to be one of the greatest representatives of a Cancer Survivor by embracing new experiences and sharing her love of life with all.
Sadly, another close friend was diagnosed last year with breast cancer. My high school friend, the Fearless Fiona, has amazed me with her mindset and bravely.  It was wonderful to travel to Provence and Paris with her and other close high school friends in May where we all celebrated her health, hardiness and our cherished friendship. In addition, I’ll have a young mother named Caroline in mind as I complete my run, wishing her strength  

I’m participating in the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 6th, along with my husband and countless relatives and friends, because breast cancer is a cause that is very important to me.  Don't wait until there is someone you know and love who is affected by breast cancer.
