Breast cancer continues to be the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Canadian women.  On average 30,500 females in our country will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, representing 25% of all new cancer cases in women.

In March 2019, I was one of those women. Three weeks later I had surgery for invasive lobular carcinoma and completed radiation treatments over the summer.
Shortly after 6 weeks of recovering from the radiation burns, a new and growing lump in the same breast caused concern. Although not cancer related, I required an additional surgery and developed post-surgical complications.  The journey continues as I anticipate the continuation of my reconstruction surgeries before the end of this year. 

Throughout, I have clung to this verse: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11. 

I thank God for His healing touch and am this year celebrate 5 years of being cancer free!
