In September 2015, days after my wedding, my mom had a mastectomy to treat an early stage breast cancer diagnosis. She was "cancer-free" for 3 years, but in late 2018 it was determined that her cancer had spread, now Stage IV. She died on Mar 1, 2021, a Medically Assisted Death (MAID) that preempted the havoc that the cancer was already wreaking on her body.

To show my support for my mom, Grandma, and the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
