Four days before Christmas 2022, twenty women ranging in age from 19 - 70 were being informed they had breast cancer.  I was one of those women.  When you’re sitting in the waiting room for your mammogram, the posters say 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.  Yet on that day, 20 of us were given that diagnosis.  That just blew me away.

Breast cancer does not discriminate.

While I rang my last bell in early February 2024, that is not the end of my journey.  It will always be in the back of my mind whether it is on "Feel it on the First", when I see my oncologist every 6 months for the next four years or waiting for my yearly mammogram results.

To show my support for all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, I am once again participating and fundraising for this year's Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday October 6, 2024.
