I now have 3 brave women in my life who have battled breast cancer; 2 are survivors, and one is battling right now.

I have also had a cancer scare, and thankfully after undergoing a major surgery in January, all is well. I have always firmly believed that the stronger and healthier a person is, the better chance they have of beating a disease. So once I started feeling better after my surgery, I started back to working out. First walking, yoga, pilates, and now doing bootcamp weight training. And I have decided to run again! I did a couple of 5k's back in 2019, then post-covid, 3 more in 2022. I have not run since. I have exactly one week to train for this 5k, so realistically, I will be walking a fair amount of the distance. But I WILL do it, and I WILL use this run to reistablish running as a regular part of my fitness routine.

To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal of $200 and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
