Every day, 75 Canadians will hear the words “you have breast cancer.” In 2009, I heard that phrase. I was shocked, frightned, and unable to hold back the tears. Thanks to the efforts of fundraisers like the Run for the Cure, scientists have found treatments that saved my life. I received chemo and radiation in 2009. I am so happy to report that I am living a healthy and active life. It's been 15 years! I am enjoying time with my family and friends, and especially my three grandchildren. I wish all others who have to hear that phrase will have a healthy active life after their treatment.
