I have been participating in the CIBC Run for the Cure for many years as Team Captain of Team Shan North Bay.

I have run, not only in Shan's memory and to bring awareness that "Young Women get Breast Cancer too” (please check out Shan's story of being diagnosed at age 23: https://teamshan.ca/), but also in memory of my Aunt Helen and my best friend's "Mama Jago".

A few years ago, I returned to the Run for the Cure after a bit of a hiatus to walk alongside a beautiful soul and breast cancer survivor ~ Melissa Campbell.

The following year we were joined by another beautiful friend and breast cancer survivor ~ Amanda Mae Mathias.

Together we formed Team Hakuna Ma Tatas. I run with and for these amazing friends, and for other special women in my life who are true warriors - battling cancer with determination while they raise their children and set the most impressive examples for us all.
