On January 6, 2023, during an ultrasound I was told I had a small tumour in my left breast. A biopsy was performed with the results being inconclusive but suspicious. In the following months I awaited news as to what I was dealing with. I was scheduled for a lumpectomy and received a diagnosis of Stage 1A Breast Cancer. Due to early detection, I learned how much I have to be grateful for. My treatment team has been incredibly comforting and reassuring. I was lucky to have an enthusiastic cheerleading squad of family, friends and co-workers. I wrapped up my radiation treatment in May of 2023 and I am looking forward to the future and running for the cure so that we can continue to make advances in breast cancer research.
