When my daughter Kayla was diagnosed with breast cancer last year just after her 40th birthday our family was devastated. Cancer!  The big “C”. One always hopes and prays that no one near or dear to them ever receives this news.  Kayla’s bravery and strength throughout the numerous tests and procedures required to make a definitive diagnosis, throughout the treatment protocol which included several rounds of chemotherapy, surgery and several rounds of radiation, was absolutely amazing. She truly is a masterpiece!  She had an incredible healthcare team and received the most up-to-date treatments, which specifically targeted the type of cancer she had to increase her chances of surviving. These treatments would not be made possible without the continuous advancements in science and research, as well as, the persistence and dedication of those who came before her.
