Following my 40th birthday, I got the call no one wants to get, you have stage 2 breast cancer. How do you process such news? I cried a lot, I have never been so scared and of course regardless of many people saying think positive you just don’t at that moment. All I know is I had to be strong not only for me, but for my young family. I like many didn’t think this could happen to me, but here we are and I was ready to fight. Surgery, Chemo, Radiation complete, now it is time to live this new life. Skip forward to the present, my 42nd birthday is coming up this will always be part of my journey, but it doesn’t define me. I take a lot of positive away from my journey, including making sourdough and really just enjoying life.

This will be my second time running in the CIBC cure run, but this time we have a team called I PINK I CAN I am running for myself, and for my family and friends who have / and or are going through this. Join my team (you don’t have to run), or make a donation anything helps! Xoxox Jen

To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.
