My Story

In 2019, at the age of 40, while I was on maternity leave with my second daughter, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer (Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma). 

I was young, healthy and fit. I was breastfeeding my baby. How could this be happening?

I began a long, arduous treatment plan including: 4 months of chemotherapy, surgery, 3 months of radiation, a year of immunotherapy, and ongoing anti-hormone therapy. It was awful and hard.

Today, thanks to my medical team and advances in cancer care, I am 5 years cancer free.

I am so grateful for every single moment that I get to spend with my girls. I want to be here for them every step of the way. 

For me, this run signifies hope. Hope for a future without breast cancer.
