In 2019 my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer on her first routine mammogram. She then had a mastectomy, postop infections, a partial reconstruction, and many rounds of antibiotics.  She was then diagnosed with breast cancer again, this time in the right side. Again, mum went through a mastectomy with reconstruction that ultimately did not work, resulting in multiple additional surgeries, postop infections with multiple courses of antibiotics and more! Through it all mum has remained strong, active, and full of life.
