Cancer can strike anyone, at any time and if you are lucky enough to beat it, the bruises last a lifetime.

Just over seven years ago, I was lucky enough to be told I was considered cancer free, and I am forever grateful for each and every day since then.

This year (April) marked a new milestone for me as I “graduated” from having an oncologist – I now have the same likelihood as anyone who has never had cancer, from being diagnosed again.

We have the power to help find a cure for cancer in our lifetime and change the conversation and the impact of a cancer diagnosis. Being in that moment on November 14, 2016, being told I have cancer that has metastasized through my lungs, my ovaries, and all through my stomach, and having a nurse ask me if anyone has spoken to me about palliative care, is a frozen moment in time that I will never forget.

We can change those moments, $1 at a time.

I participate in the RFTC so that others will not have to remember a cancer diagnosis like I (and so many others) do, and I truly believe that LIFE is bigger than cancer – and together, we have the power to help find a cure in our lifetime for all types of cancer.

When we find a cure for one form of cancer, it will bring us so much closer to finding a cure for other forms of cancer – and then we can eradicate it. To do that, WE NEED YOU.
