On September 6 2022 my life was turned upside down when at the age of 32 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma. I had no family history or high risk factors, but suddenly I became the 1 in 8 women. As a mom of 3 young boys I had to quickly become strong and prepare for the strenuous road ahead. I had 8 rounds of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy with removal of lymph nodes on my right side, 28 rounds of radiation and diep flap reconstruction surgery with multiple complications. Now 2 years later, I am here, I am healthy and I am advocate for this devastating disease. 

To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.
