This is my 8th year participating in the Run. I started with walking 1K in my first year while I was still receiving treatment with admiring eyes on those cancer survivors - they encouraged me and gave me HOPE. I was touched by some of participants who even walked with a walker, some of them were in their wheel chairs...Their presence was to Support each other!

For the past few years, I'm so blessed to be able to complete the 5K walk  each time.  This year, I will walk an extra 1K to commemorate two of my teamates who are now watching over me from above .

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Canadian women - 1 in 8 women are expected to develop breast cancer during her lifetime. At present, with faster diagnostic mechanisms, more effective drugs and better treatment plans, the survival rate has gone up.  However, there is still so much work to be done so that these women can live longer, healthier lives.

By participating in this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure,  I’m joining a collective force, that is a force-for-life ,in the face of breast cancer.
