On October 8th 2010, I heard the words “you have breast cancer.”   I had no idea what to expect and was terrified.  There has been treatment, there have been surgeries, and there have been incredibly difficult days. 

BUT there has also been great joy over the past 12 years.  I've gotten married, become a mother to a little mini-me, and celebrated milestones in the lives of my friends and family.  

During this time i've made lifelong friends who share an understanding of what this diagnosis means,  Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer are living longer, healthier lives, but there is still so much work to be done.
