To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. 

 

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Days before Run for the Cure 2023, a close friend of my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, stage 2B. Running last year was incredibly emotional as I was so sad for my mom and my mom's friend. Over the last year, she went through some serious hurdles, being allergic to most of the cancer treatment medications, a bout with pneumonia causing her to be sedated and then have to undergo immense physiotherapy to get "back to normal". Today, I signed up for Run for the Cure knowing that Andrea is now cancer free. This year, I'm not worried we are going to lose someone, I am happy that she survived. But it is not lost on me that so many women don't survive.

Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease. People like Andrea who struggled to find the treatment that her body didn't want to reject with an immense passion.
