An estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada. I was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer in 2019, and have been extremely grateful for the excellent health care I received then and continue to receive now. While my cancer is gone, I know many others will follow in my footsteps. To show my support for all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

In 2020, I joined a dragon boat team of breast cancer survivors called Dragons Abreast. I have been honoured to meet and compete with many amazing women in this awesome sport. This year, I'm participating with my dragon boat teammates and our sister team, Pink Crusaders, to promote the importance of exercise in staying healthy after breast cancer.
