I participate for the women in my life who have been affected by Breast Cancer. 

Within my inner circle, it is jarring how many women young and old have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Although the field of medicine has made strides in the right direction - it is not nearly enough.

I am inspired by my close friends who have confronted their diagnosis with the utmost strength and positivity. They are the toughest women with strong will, tencity and a zest and passion for life that keeps them fighting hard.

I also run for those in my entended family who sadly lost their life to the disease, as they too fought with all they had.

We need to work harder to find a cure to prevent more lives from being lost to not only breast cancer, but all cancers.

An estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada.

To show my support for all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

P.S. Did you know? Fundraising $300 can fund help provide healthy home-cooked meals for guests at a Canadian Cancer Society lodge during their stay. Lodge guests receive wholesome foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, and meals customized to their dietary needs – including those arising from cancer treatment, like liquid and soft food diets.
