An estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada. In 2023, one of those women was my dear friend Kelli Freedman. At just 32 years old, with a 3 month old baby, Kelli was given the devastating news the lump she found in her breast was in fact cancerous.

A year later I am thrilled to say that Kelli has kicked cancer's a$$, and after a very long year of treatment, surgery, radiation and so much more, is cancer free (pupupu - look it up if you don't know what it means)!! In addition to the amazing support from her family and friends, this would not have been possible without the fundraising efforts every year to advance the research and treatment of Breast Cancer.

I am honoured to show my support for Kelli and all Canadians impacted by breast cancer by participating in and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 6, 2024. More than anything, I am excited to take part in this walk with Kelli who is getting stronger each day!! Love you Kell!!

P.S. Did you know? Fundraising $500 can fund help provide healthy home-cooked meals for guests at a Canadian Cancer Society lodge during their stay. Lodge guests receive wholesome foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, and meals customized to their dietary needs including those arising from cancer treatment, like liquid and soft food diets.
