Yes, you read correctly, I am going to run a 5K...

While I know you're probably shocked to read this, if you knew my cousin Cassie, it wouldn't surprise you as to why I am stepping WAY out of my comfort zone to honour her memory.

Cassandra was a friend to everyone, a fun-loving spirit, an intrepid traveler and a warrior with an infectious personality. To say I looked up to Cass would be an understatement. She had a way of speaking with influence, it's why I followed her to the University of Guelph and was lucky enough to travel 12 countries with her.

When Cassie passed, my Auntie Rose shared with us things Cassie wanted to achieve once she beat Breast Cancer. On that list, among many other goals and objectives, was completing a 5K. I hope, in some way this helps honour her ambitions.
