My dear family and friends,

I hope this message finds you well.

I’m reaching out to share something that’s important to me, and I’m hoping you might consider helping out.

To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. 

Recently, a close school friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer. Even though I have heard the statistics time after time that 1 in 8 women are expected to develop breast cancer in their lifetime and 1 in 34 would die of it, it has always remained a statistic, till my friend was diagnosed last year. 

I have seen her struggle, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. My group of friends and I have stood by her trying our best to support her in anyway we can. But the fact remains that this journey is hers, and she walks this path by herself.

To show her our support and our love and remind her that she is never alone, we her friends have decided to "run for the cure". 

We do not know what tomorrow brings for anyone of us. But what we do know is that we are loved and will never be alone, no matter what the world can throw at us, if we have family and friends who stand by us.

And so, we her friends run!

We run for her and for all women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

We run to remind them that they are not alone.

We run in hopes that there will be a cure for breast cancer. 

We run to to bring hope for the future.
