Querida familia,

Earlier this year, I received life-changing news: I was diagnosed with a BRCA1 gene mutation, which puts me at a 70% risk of developing breast cancer and a 40% risk of developing ovarian cancer. To reduce these risks, I’ve made the difficult decision to undergo a double mastectomy and a partial hysterectomy next year.

On October 6, I’m participating in the Run for the Cure organized by CIBC and the Canadian Cancer Society. I’m running not just for myself but for those who didn’t have the opportunity to act before cancer touched their lives. This cause is deeply personal to me, and I’m dedicated to raising awareness, hope, and support for others facing similar challenges.

My goal is to raise $500 towards this campaign, which will help fund breast cancer research, prevention, and vital support services like wigs and prostheses for those in need.
