For a number of years, my mom has participated in CIBC Run for the Cure and fundraised for Alda's Wasaga Warrior with family friends. This past April, as my mom was preparing to retire, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Due to early detection and screening, my mom's breast cancer was caught and treated in the very early stages. After having surgery in June and a long recovery this summer, my mom is currently cancer free and doing so well. The money raised from this event that goes to research and support programs has now directly impacted and benefited my family and I will forever be grateful. This year I have decided to join my mom and our family friends in the CIBC Run the Cure to raise money in finding a cure for breast cancer. 

To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year (including my mom), I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.
