To show my support for the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure so that they can continue to help those and their families struggling with cancer. 

Many of my loved ones have been directly affected by cancer, and the footprints it leaves on all of us. A few years ago, my grandfather (Edward) passed away from cancer after living with it for 25 years. Soon later, my uncle Erol also passed on, only living with it for a couple months. Further showing that there is so much still left undiscovered about this appalling disease.

*My Godmother has been there for me since day one. She has gifted me baby books, jewelry, to the comfiest and most beautiful blanket ever made (which she completely handmade for my 15th birthday). She had given me everything, and with no doubt considered a part of my immediate family. Which is why I was completely destroyed to find out quite a few years ago about her cancer diagnosis which would cause her so much pain, she had to take a permanent leave from work. Now, just one month ago, her body suddenly started to fail, and 5 days later… her heart stopped.

The last time I did this run, she was there. This was so many years ago, and the reason that I have decided to pick this event back up is because of her. Her existence has shown me the greatest happiness, and her absence has caused me the greatest pain. Tia Nila has given me the opportunity to get to know her, and the healing power that she believes in.

My goal is to fundraise a minimum

goal of $150

to go towards improving and discovering

better treatment options and survival outcomes. Together, we can give Canadians impacted by cancer a reason to have hope. And we can help change the future for them and their families.
