My friend Morgne's mother, was diagnosed with stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer in May 2024, at age 54. Since then, she has shown incredible strength, enduring weekly chemo treatments and various related procedures. Remarkably, she has been handling her treatments well (though it’s not surprising considering her resilience and determination—she truly embodies the definition of a strong woman!).​

Morgane and her family are immensely grateful not only for the excellent care she continues to receive at Odette (Sunnybrook) but also for the generous donations and investments that have advanced cancer research and treatments over the past few decades. Her cancer is HER2+ (an aggressive protein-responsive type). Just five years ago, a diagnosis at such an advanced stage would have led to palliative care discussions. However, thanks to progress in HER2+ research and treatment options, she has been able to receive targeted therapies, which have reduced some of her metastases by over 40% in just a couple of months!

With your help, we aim to reach our fundraising goal in the hopes of making a life-changing difference for the ~1 in 8 women who, like Morgane's mom, are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Every dollar raised will support cutting-edge breast cancer research and provide support programs for impacted women and their families.
