The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is more than just an event. It’s a movement that supports the breast cancer cause in communities across the country and honours the lives of those touched by the disease. Together we can change the future of breast cancer.

As many of you know, my dad, Mel, started this team way back in 2001, shortly after he was diagnosed with breast cancer, and since his passing in 2008, we, as a team, have continued to raise incredible amounts of money to put our hand into kicking this disease in the butt!

It all starts with your donation. Sadly, breast cancer is part of my family's daily vocabulary. I go every 6 months for screening, and believe me, every time I go, there's always that "fear" that this appointment will not be the same as all the other ones prior.

Thanks in part to The Canadian Cancer Society/CIBC Run for the Cure, I have access to early detection programs and support, and by raising funds, it reassures me that the access will continue to be there for me, my family and the many thousands of other women and men who may one day need these very same services.
