This will be the 17th year that I've walked in memory of Samantha Scully, a fine colleague. We were diagnosed with breast cancer within a few months of each other in 2007. I had "common-or-garden" breast cancer and survived. Samantha had triple-negative breast cancer, and didn't. The photo at right shows her son Charlie, who was a toddler when his mother died, and his little sister Sophie, born after his father remarried. Charlie is now a big, handsome young man in his second year of university. 

Samantha asked her family to participate in the Run. For me, it has become not only a way to honour her but a precious annual reunion with her family.

I have lost more friends to breast cancer since Samantha's death. I don't believe that there will be one definitive cure for breast cancer, but the money you donate will fund research, will help those "living with" breast cancer (I found the Canadian Cancer Society's information useful when I was in treatment), and may reduce the number of untimely deaths. Thank you for anything you give.
