Some of you will remember that this disease hit home for me in 2010 when my twin sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. My comfortable world was knocked off its access. I watched my sister undergo surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Her courage and strength in fighting this disease astounded me.  She continues to inspire me every day.  Sadly, in 2020 my world was once again shaken. As the world began its journey with Covid, I received news that I had early stage breast cancer. My surgery and treatments were done as we struggled with Covid. My journey was a lonely one as hospitals were doing their best to treat patients in the best way that they could. My family and friends were forced to stand on the sidelines and watch me unable to accompany me to treatments or to hold my hand. Fortunately I am a survivor and am cancer free to date.

I can no longer stand on the sidelines. I must walk with my co-survivors and friends to show that Cancer can be beaten!
