To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.

In 2001 I lost my grandmother "My Nonna Velia" at only 70 years young to Pancreas Cancer. I had only 6 months left with her, dealing with so many emotions (denial, hope, anger, bargaining, depression), she had only 6 months to fight a battle that she would never wIn! There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about her and wish we had just one more day together. It has now been 23 years and although I miss her voice, our daily chats about "what I had for dinner" and her unconditional love and constance support, I am also remembered of all the time we spent together and all the things she thought me about Family valves and Family traditions, that I do my best to instill in my children.

I've witnessed many women in my family and my friends that have fought the battle of breast Cancer some the fight was more successful some not. I run for them as well, They are my hero's, their strength to fight is what makes me fight.

FUCK CANCER!!! I try to do this fundraiser ever year to help raise money to find a cure, so that lives can be saved and so that "CANCER" doesn't decided when our time is, that good old "OLD AGE" is what dictates our "FAREWELL"!
