In October 2015, at the age of 44, I received an unexpected diagnosis of Stage 2 Breast Cancer. I'll never forget the shock of hearing those words in the doctor's office: "It's cancer." Looking back on my journey, it's still challenging to fully grasp how life can change in an instant.

The entire experience remains surreal. Dealing with the physical, emotional, and mental trauma was a daunting roller coaster ride. Treatment doesn't magically return everything to normal; it leaves you with countless unanswered questions, uncertainties, and challenges. Yet, somehow, I discovered an inner strength and peace to move forward and channel my purpose into something positive. I wouldn't have made it through it all if it wasn’t for the support of the doctors , nurses as well as the researchers and fundraisers . All their hard work and dedication have made my journey a success and I'll always be eternally grateful.

Today, I feel blessed and stronger than ever. I'm determined to make a difference and honor not only my journey but also my fellow pink sisters—those who have fought, and those who are fighting.  I'm immensely grateful to be here for my children. I want to pay it forward and help others, which is why the CIBC Run for the Cure has become a cause close to our hearts.

In 2017, we started our team, "The Pink Angels," and this year marks our 7th Annual Run for the Cure. It has become a beautiful tradition for our family and friends to come together and create a meaningful impact.
