Hello!!! On October 6th, I am participating in the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure, a cause that is close to my heart. 

My grandmother passed away from breast cancer when I was young. Her battle has shaped my understanding of how devastating this disease can be, not just for the person diagnosed but for all their loved ones.  This past August, I experienced my own scare when I found a lump in my breast. After undergoing a lumpectomy, I was relieved to learn that it was a fibroadenoma—a benign condition. But for a moment, I glimpsed the fear and uncertainty that so many people face when they receive that kind of news. While I was fortunate, the fear I felt brought me closer to the reality that so many Canadians face daily.
