In September of 2022, we lost one of the best women on the planet, our bestie, Liz. She fought so hard against a diagnosis of triple negative, metastatic breast cancer. We miss her everyday, and know that she wants us to keep this cause going, and find a cure for this disease that affects so many worldwide.

I also run (let's be honest, walk...) for my step-mom, Cindy, who is a metastatic breast cancer survivor, and has been fighting this disease for more than 20 years. 

And lastly, our Ali-cat! Ali is also a breast cancer survivor, whom fought alongside Liz, and is living proof of how resiliant and strong we really are. She is our guiding light with this team, and shows us how important it is to put our health first.

An estimated 27,700 women and 260 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in Canada.

To show my support for all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

P.S. Did you know? Fundraising $300 can fund help provide healthy home-cooked meals for guests at a Canadian Cancer Society lodge during their stay. Lodge guests receive wholesome foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, and meals customized to their dietary needs including those arising from cancer treatment, like liquid and soft food diets.
