Welcome to My Fundraising Page!
Every day, 70 Canadians will hear the words “you have breast cancer.” I was one of them.
My journey began a few years ago when i found a lump in my breast. I had a biopsy and it turned out to be nothing. I was however required to be put into screening, where i had mammograms and ultrasounds done every six months to monitor things. I started screening when i was 39, and was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer (grade 3 DCIS & LCIS) at age 42. My doctor's assured me that i had the "best kind of breast cancer". They were right. I had a double mastectomy on May 17th, and am currently going throught the reconstruction process, with my final surgery scheduled in December. Things could have been much worse for me if it wasn't for the 6 month check ins. Early detection saved my life. I want every woman who is diagnosed with breast cancer to have my experience, but sadly, that isn't the case. I am running for all of my fellow cancer warriors that cannot run themselves, and for every loved one that supports someone going throught this horrible disease.
There is so much work to be done.
By participating in this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure, I’m joining a collective that is a force-for-life in the face of breast cancer. I’m running in of the incredible people who have supported me in my battle with breast cancer and for all of the brave warriors who have inspired me.
Please contribute what you can to help me achieve my fundraising goal. Every dollar makes a difference. Your donation will fund ground-breaking research to help save the lives of more Canadians and provide support programs for people affected by breast cancer.
Did you know that just $100 could fund two hours of life-saving research in a world class laboratory? Your contribution could lead to the next breakthrough!
Together, we can change the future of breast cancer.
Thanks in advance for your support!
