As many of you know, my mom, Sandie Baillargeon, was diagnosed with breast cancer on December 8th, 2020.

When she was first diagnosed, she was hopeful that surgery would be sufficient in removing the cancer. But she soon found out that the cancer was more involved than originally thought and treatment was going to be more challenging than anticipated. She underwent surgery, followed by chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

In the face of fear, my mom accepted these unfathomable challenges with immense courage and bravery.

Her journey was decided by her health care team, but was lead by her positive attitude, faith and determination.

Thankfully, because of years of research and advancements in medical science, my mom was able to receive the care she needed so that she could ring the bell to mark the end of her treatment on August 6th, 2021.

To show my support for my mom and all Canadians that are impacted by breast cancer, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 2, 2022.

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease.
