In September of 2021 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was the most terrifying day of my life. I worried for my son who was just a year and a half, and how this diagnosis would affect his life. I worried that I wouldn't be able to be there for him as a mom should be while going through treatment. I worried for my husband and the impact this would have on our lives together moving forward. To say this experience has been traumatic would be an understatement. The scars on my body run deeper than the surface, the emotional toll has been overwhelming at times, but I have learned that I am stronger than I thought I could ever be. Thanks to the support of family, friends and co-workers I have had an army behind me the entire way. The programs and support offered to me through this journey have been unbelievably helpful and I want to help support these organizations in any way that I can, which is why I am fundraising for the Canadian Cancer Society.
