To show my support for the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year, I am participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure.

As you may know, in January of 2018 I was diagnosed with Stage III Breast Cancer. I was quickly started on intense chemotherapy before having bilateral mastectomies with immediate reconstruction. After surgery, they found that my cancer had not responded well to the initial rounds of chemotherapy, so we tried a newer type for another 8 rounds followed by Radiation therapy to my left breast and lymph nodes. I am currently on maintenance medication to prevent my cancer from returning and have been cancer free for almost 6 years.

I firmly believe that my treatments wouldn't have been possible without the research funds raised by organizations such as the CIBC Run for the Cure.

Almost 30,000 Canadian women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer each year! Help me fundraise for a cure to make sure that other women can survive to tell their stories.
