Thirty six years ago, I lost my mom to breast cancer. She was only 44. The pain she went through was unbearable. From surgery, Cobalt, and chemotherapy. 

Last year my best friend, Mary Ann was diagnosed with the disease. Thank God it was detected early and was able to be treated through surgery. 

I wrote and published a book about my mom’s breast cancer journey and how our lives were never the same. ‘Holding Hands In The Darkness’. To keep her legacy alive and hope that her story can inspire others who are going through the same thing. 

I am participating and fundraising for this event in the hope that the money we raise can help the research find the cure for breast cancer so no one else will suffer from this terrible disease.
