Welcome to My Fundraising Page!
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read my message.
As some of you are aware, I have participated in the Run For The Cure for the last several years in tribute to my mother, Fran, a breast cancer survivor. My mother is doing great and continues to shine and be a source of inspiration for me, both as a mother, grandmother, and as a fighter.
As you may also be aware, in 2016 I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 34. Needless to say, this was a huge shock for many reasons (my age, gender, etc.) and 2016 was a year unlike anything I have experienced; the words 'emotional roller coaster' don't even begin to explain it.
I am now focused on the future, so I won't retell my story here (if you are interested you can read about it here: http://cibcrunforthecure.supportcbcf.com/site/TR?type=fr_personal&fr_id=2664&px=1493855&post_id=15637&bpg=rlist&pg=personal
I will say that in strange way, having cancer showed me how lucky and blessed I truly am. I refuse to see my cancer as simply a negative or traumatic experience (although it certainly was) but as an experience in which I can find meaning, and to appreciate how truly blessed I am in so many ways.
But I know that there are so many people out there whose experience with cancer are very different and much more difficult, in so many ways. So that is why I continue to run for the Cure and that is why I hope you will support me in doing so. Over the last few years I have gotten to know some of the amazing people at the CBCF/CCS and seen the incredible work this organization does, from research funding to support services, education and prevention. They are helping to create a world where no Canadian fears cancer.
All donations, no matter the size, are welcome and can make a big difference in the lives of so many people. Please spread the word and share this email, or better yet, join our team and help us reach our goal.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. I hope to see you on run day as well!
Every day, 70 Canadians will hear the words "you have breast cancer." While these Canadians are living longer, healthier lives after a breast cancer diagnosis, but there is still so much work to be done.
By participating in this year's Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure, I'm joining a collective that is a force-for-life in the face of breast cancer. I'm running in honour of the incredible people in my life, and I need your help!
Please contribute what you can to help me achieve my fundraising goal. Every dollar makes a difference. Your donation will fund ground-breaking research to help save the lives of more Canadians and provide support programs for people affected by breast cancer.
Did you know that just $100 could fund two hours of life-saving research in a world class laboratory? Your contribution could lead to the next breakthrough!
Together, we can change the future of breast cancer.
Thanks in advance for your support!
