Every day, 80 Canadian women will hear the words “you have breast cancer.” 

Everything I knew was turned upside down in 2011, the minute I heard the words, "you have breast cancer". It was a pivotal, life-altering moment.

Although that day my life changed in an instant, today, when I think of breast cancer, I am grateful for the unwavering support of my family and friends, for the treatments that gave me hope and for the incredible advancements in medicine that provide a future of promise.

I am inspired to touch the lives of others who may face the fear and dread that breast cancer brings. I want to offer hope, to lend a hand, to create positive change and to remind others they are never alone.

That is why on Sunday, October 6th, for my 13th year, I will lace up to support the Canadian Cancer Society by participating in the CIBC Run for the Cure.

Please help me to raise money for this worthy cause by supporting my efforts with the CIBC Run for the Cure. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Canadians are living longer, healthier lives after a breast cancer diagnosis, but there is still so much work to be done.
