Ridley Runs' for Bobbie and Caitlin
Every day, 70 Canadians will hear the words “you have breast cancer.” While these Canadians are living longer, healthier lives after a breast cancer diagnosis, there is still so much work to be done.
Last year, GWest participated in this run to honour our previous Head of House, Bobbie Fillion and her ongoing battle with Breast Cancer. This year, we are joined by our entire Ridley community as we work together to raise funds to honour both Bobbie, as well as Caitlin Bowie, wife of faculty member Matt Bowie, in their fights against this horrible illness.
By participating in this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure, our team is helping make a meaningful difference in the lives of so many Canadians who are affected by breast cancer. We’re running in honour of all of the incredible people in our lives who are impacted by Breast Cancer and we need your support!
This year we have chosen a fundraising goal of $5000. Students of Ridley College will participate in a relay style walk to allow for COVID protocols to be followed. The walk will occur around campus on Sunday October 4th. Although outside community members are unable to physically join the campus relay that day, please join our team and track your steps from home and/ or make a monitary donation towards out fundraising goal.
Every dollar makes a difference. Your donation will fund the best breast cancer research and the largest support system in the country for people affected by cancer.
Did you know that just $100 could fund two hours of life-saving research in a world class laboratory? Your contribution could lead to the next breakthrough!
Together, we can change the future of breast cancer.
Thanks in advance for your support!
