In order to put the well-being and safety of people affected by cancer, our clients, event participants, supporters, volunteers and staff first, we are cancelling in-person events related to Batting Against Breast Cancer 2020 for both Calgary and Edmonton. If you are involved in Batting Against Breast Cancer 2020, you will receive information from us about next steps. There is no doubt this is an unfortunate situation as Batting Against Breast Cancer 2020 is not only a much-anticipated event but also a meaningful way for people to show their support for the cancer cause.

In spite of Batting Against Breast Cancer 2020 not taking place for now, we encourage you to consider getting involved in planning a virtual fundraising event for Batting Against Breast Cancer. Thank you!

The Canadian Cancer Society is proud to be hosting the 12th annual Batting Against Breast Cancer slo-pitch tournament on September 12th, 2020 at the Chinook Winds Ball Diamonds in Airdrie. Batting Against Breast Cancer has raised over $4 million in support of research, education and peer support programs funded by the Canadian Cancer Society for the breast cancer cause.

Step up to the plate

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related death among Canadian women. With 1 in 8 Canadian women expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, cancer affects us all but it’s something we can face together. Sign up for Batting Against Breast Cancer™ today and join your local community for a weekend of fun, friendship, and lasting memories.

Who can join?

Tournament schedule: Teams comprising a minimum of 10 people and a maximum of 15 (at least three members MUST be female) are able to register online and start fundraising today. Batting Against Breast Cancer™ has a variety of divisions, making it fun for all skill levels. Teams must raise a minimum of $1,500 in order to participate.

Event day information

Batting Against Breast Cancer™ is a round robin tournament (each team is guaranteed to play a minimum of three (3) games culminating in a playoff on Sunday (each team is guaranteed one game in the playoffs). The schedule will be available one week prior to the tournament date.



Event day schedule

We encourage you to take part in a variety of on-site activities including but not limited to a silent auction, family fun zone (all kids must be monitored), opening and closing ceremonies, 50/50 draws and a complimentary pancake breakfast on Sunday morning.

Fundraising awards & division champions

Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraising teams and individuals, as well as the division champions.
