On June 24th, I will run the 25K Road to Relay run which ends at the opening ceremonies of the Belleville Relay For Life event at Loyalist College. I'm running to honour the memory of my hero, Thomas Martin.
Thomas lost his fight with an aggressive and rare brain cancer on February 29th this year. He was only 11 years old, but he fought his battle hard, and he will always be remembered for his infectious laugh, for his kind heart and his incredible personal strength in the face of this terrible disease.
In Thomas’ memory, I will continue to fight brain cancerso that no other family has to go through what Bob and Charlene have gone through, what they still go through having lost their child.
I’m asking you to help me fight brain cancer. The survival rate today from brain cancer is still only 25%. Many other cancers now have much higher survival rates, but brain cancer needs more research to move the needle on survivorship. 100% of the money raised through this run will go to brain cancer research through the Canadian Cancer Society. They are the country’s largest funder of brain cancer research. PLUS your donations will be DOUBLED by a matching grant to make our money go even further.
Thank you for your support. This is important to me, and it’s what Thomas would have wanted me to do. He is my inspiration, my hero and I miss him every day.
Help me reach my fundraising goal!
Please pledge me now and join me in the fight against cancer.
Online pledging is secure and it saves the Society money by reducing administrative costs - it means the money you give can go further to help the fight against cancer.
Thanks for your support!
