Devi Pisharodi, beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt, friend and teacher passed away on July 29th, 2019 after a year-long battle with breast cancer. She passed peacefully at her childhood home in Thrissur, Kerala, India surrounded by her immediate family. Funeral and last rites were held in Kerala on July 30.
Devi lost her husband Unni Pisharodi in January 2017, as he succumbed to brain cancer (Glioblastoma). She is survived by her two sons, Gokul and Govind, her mother, her two brothers and her two sisters.
Devi was a well respected and admired teacher at Moira Secondary School (now Eastside) in Belleville, Ontario. The legacy she leaves behind is within each and every one of the students who were lucky to be in Mrs. P’s class.
Many hearts are feeling empty these days as Devi left an indelible mark on so many of her close family and friends. There are truly no words to express what Devi meant to so many.
In the name of Devi and her Husband, we would like to raise and donate as much as we can to cancer research so that we can try and eradicate this devastating disease.
We pray that her loving soul may rest in peace.
