David was a loving grandfather, father, husband and brother. He was also a great mentor and friend.
He passed away on January 26th, 2019 with his family by his side in Vancouver, Canada, at the young age of 67.
He was a Professional Engineer who completed his Masters Degree in Engineering with Honours in 1977 at the University of British Columbia. He went on to have a very successful career at Worksafe BC and retired after 34 years as the Director of Facilities.
His leadership, loyalty, vision, thoughtfulness and dry sense of humour were just a few of his qualities that made him so endearing and beloved by everyone who met or worked with him. He was a green visionary and helped make Worksafe BC facilities more efficient by promoting green a lifestyle even before the green trend.
He was a lifelong student of architecture and real estate. In his free time, he helped to design many custom homes in Vancouver.
He had a passion for music, cycling and soccer. He loved travelling the world, especially with his family. He always wanted to show his grandchildren the world.
In the latter years after retirement, he was always listening to music, learning new songs and strumming his guitar.
He never showed any fear or pain.
Despite being cut short, he lived a good life full or joy, happiness and love.
We will miss you, Dad. May you rest in peace, free from pain.
Through this page, I hope to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer. I embrace this mission and hope you do too. With continued support for the Society, fewer people in the future will have to lose their loved ones before their time.
Every donation to your page brings us one step closer to preventing cancer, detecting it earlier, improving treatments and helping Canadians live longer, healthier lives.
Together, we can change cancer forever.
All funds donated through this page will support the work of the Canadian Cancer Society. The Society makes more impact, against more cancers, in more communities, than any other cancer charity in Canada.
Please make a generous gift today.
