I will never forget how it felt to be diagnosed with breast cancer while 5.5 months pregnant with my twin boys. The following couple of weeks were filled with appointments, tests & starting chemo. Thanks to research, it is known that certain chemo meds should be safe while pregnant. My treatment couldn't wait so I had 3 chemo treatments while pregnant. There were other chemo meds that I needed that were definitely not safe. My story would have a different ending if it wasn't for research into these meds

 In 2021, I was diagnosed with a metastatic breast cancer recurrence. A tumor was found in my brain. I have had surgery, radiation and chemo. I will continue to be on treatment every 3 weeks to help prevent another recurrence. There is no cure for metastatic breast cancer. One of my breast friends explained it like this, every chemo option is like another rung on a ladder. At some point, you are at the top of the ladder. There are no more options to help the cancer from growing & spreading.
